The Next Generation Super Thread lift comes to Bare Beauty in Saffron Walden?

Otherwise known as ‘the lunch-time face-lift’, PDO thread-lifting has become a popular option for anyone who wants to look younger without resorting to the scalpel. We are always looking to broaden our treatment range so that we can give our clients a choice of having one of the best, most successful and reliable procedures in the industry We are excited to be able to offer our clients the Super Thread Lift, a highly prestigious, non-surgical alternative to the facelift.

Using micro-fine needles, tiny threads are inserted into the skin to form a mesh that stimulates collagen production. The threads themselves are made from an absorbable compound called polydioxanone (like that used in surgical sutures), and dissolve after around six months, leaving a matrix of newly generated collagen in their place. PDO thread-lifting is an effective way of harnessing the body’s natural skin-rejuvenating process.

Who is PDO thread-lifting good for?

The procedure is ideal for most people over 25 and upwards if the signs of aging have become noticeable and who want to achieve a more youthful appearance. Aging causes the skin tissue to thin as the collagen and elastic fibres break down, resulting in sagging skin, lines, and wrinkles. The procedure can be used to tackle all the tell-tale signs of ageing from crow’s-feet to nasal-labial and marionette lines (which run down from the nose and mouth.) PDO Thread-lifts are also excellent for treating jowls and a sagging neck, as they help kill off fat cells, giving you an extra firming effect in this area and a more defined jaw. If you want the benefits of a face-lift without the upheaval of surgery, then this is a treatment worth considering. The following areas are considered suitable for PDOs with results showing over a period of twelve weeks and beyond.

  • Crow's-Feet

  • Marionette Lines

  • Jowl Tightening

  • Nose To Mouth Lines

  • Defined Jaw

  • Skin Tightening

What’s involved in the PDO thread-lifting treatment?

Micro-fine needles loaded with collagen threads are inserted into the skin. These are then gently withdrawn, leaving the threads in place. On average, it takes about 20- 30 minutes per area being treated. You shouldn’t feel much discomfort, and the needles are so fine, there shouldn’t be any sign you’ve had anything done. In fact, one of the reasons they call it the lunchtime lift is you really can return to work afterwards. The amount of thread used will be determined by the size of the area treated but to give you some idea the neck would require around 20 threads each side.

What results can I expect from a PDO thread-lift?

You should notice an immediate tightening up of sagging skin thanks to the scaffolding effect of the threads. These results will continue to improve over the coming months as tubes of collagen form around the threads. Your skin will appear firmer, and any lines will be softened and minimised. The threads dissolve around six months after the procedure, leaving the collagen matrix in their place for two to three years, depending on your age, so the benefits will last some time.

Boost The PDO thread-lift benefits

PDO Thread-lifting can be combined with Advanced Skin Boosters Profhilo and Sunekos. Profhilo is the first injectable moisturiser also known as hyaluronic acid serum. Hyaluronic acid boosts skin radiance and reduces signs of aging and sun damage. Profhilo creates Bio-remodelling which nourishes the skin cells and restores firmness of the skin, creating tightness and acts directly on skin laxity. It has been proven that Profhilo stimulates four different types of collagens and elastin.

Sunekos 200 utilises HA in combination with Amino Acid. These can stimulate the Extra Cellular Matrix deep in the skin. The dermis of the skin is then rebuilt in a very natural way. Sunekos 200 is used to target fine lines around the eyes. The two products used together can achieve spectacular results and enhance the PDO thread lift.

PDO Threads FAQ

What are PDO Threads?

Thread lifts are a minimally invasive procedure using dissolvable PDO threads (a medical grade thread used for suturing for over 20 years) which are broken down naturally by the body over time. PDO threads are designed to rejuvenate and improve facial structure, giving the same benefits as a facelift, but without the need for surgery.

How many treatments will I need?

Its important to have a course of three treatments each 4 weeks apart. Over the course of 12 weeks the collagen will naturally convert to type 1 which is the type of collagen so vital in maintaining the structural protein.

Is the treatment painful?

No – it maybe a little uncomfortable but it is very manageable. A topical anaesthetic can be applied to the injection area although not necessary.

Is there any down time?

Not at all. You are good to go after the treatment. There maybe a little redness and a little bruising the next day. However, most people experience very little aftereffects.

What is the Aftercare?

An SPF 30 is advised

Avoid Dental treatments for at least 4 weeks after the procedure.

No facial massaging for 2 weeks after the procedure

No sauna or heat treatments

No heat generating devices such as laser or RF for 12 weeks after the procedure because the heat will distort the threads.
